This guide has been published by funding through the European project WPG (2023-2025) with the support of the European Commission under the Erasmus Plus programme and reflects exclusively the authors' opinion, without implying the Commission's responsibility for the use of the information included.
This guide presents theoretical notions about volunteering and micro-volunteering, highlighting numerous practical examples, theoretical research and recommendations for the active involvement of citizens in various fields. From social inclusion, environmental protection, digitalization, to humanitarian actions, volunteering is becoming an essential tool for a better society.
Structured in four main parts, the guide offers a detailed approach to each theme, from education and social inclusion, to environmental protection, humanitarian interventions, digitization, both through the theoretical part and through examples of good practices.
It is not only a guide for citizens who are interested in becoming volunteers, but also for organizations that want to adopt inclusive, sustainable and effective models of citizen involvement in such actions. It is also a valuable tool for educators, trainers, activists and decision-makers who understand that the future of a society is built through the active involvement of each of its members.
Volunteering is not just about helping those in need, it is also about building stronger bonds between people by cultivating solidarity. In an era where collaboration and empathy are more important than ever, this work aims to inspire and guide the reader on their journey to make volunteering a daily practice, accessible and useful for everyone.
The WPG team hopes that the materials will be appreciated and useful for the activities of the beneficiaries.
