Pencho Kovachev was born in 1954 in Belogradchik, Bulgaria.
He graduated from the Department of Journalism of Sofia University “St. Clement Ohridski”.
Pencho Kovachev has worked at "Pogled" newspaper, he's been deputy editor-in-chief at "Standard" nespaper, head of the news department at Bulgarian National Television, and editor-in-chief of "Cash" newspaper.
At the present time he is commentator at 24 hours" newspaper.

Mr Kovachev is a script-writer of tv film serials „Едно дете в повече“ (A Child Too Many) and „Людмил и Руслана“ (Ludmil and Ruslana), as well as of six documentary films.
Author of the collection of short stories „Цигански късмет“ (Gipsy Luck).
